I will be teaching
Beginning Acrylic Painting: Portraits & Animals at Riley Street Art Supply in San Rafael on Thursdays from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, starting on February 27th.
This class incorporates traditional workshop approaches of the past for today's beginning artist. I will begin each class with a brief demonstration on blending, color, and the many ways to manipulate acrylic paint in portraiture.
My goal is to provide students with the knowledge of the materials and techniques to feel confident in exercising their vision on canvas. I will discuss what is essential in the creating of a pleasing painting, i.e. composition, light/value, color and more. I’ll have on hand several examples of my finished work.
Also on Saturday, February 22, I will be conducting a free art demonstration at Riley Street Art Supply. I’ll have some materials available for students to experiment with.
If you have a specific subject or aspect of painting you would like to explore please bring your picture and be prepared. The demonstration will run from 11 am to 1pm.
Seating is limited so please call (415) 457 2787 to reserve.
