As Visual Arts Coordinator,
every month I organize two shows in the Maurice Del Mue Galleries at the San
Geronimo Valley Community Center. This month we’re presenting recent paintings of Stanley Mouse and Mot.

Stanly Mouse

Stanley Mouse is
best known for his 1960’s era rock posters associated with the Family Dog,
Fillmore Auditorium,, Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, Big Brother and the Holding
Company, Steve Miller and later , imagery for Jimi Hendrix, Journey, The
Rolling Stones, The Beatles and Blind Faith. With Alton Kelly, Mouse did eight
album covers for the Grateful Dead.
Stanley Mouse
studied art at Detroit’s School for the Society of Arts and Crafts and has
exhibited his work at The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, The Louvre, The
Tate Museum in Liverpool, The New York Art Museum, The Tokyo Museum of Modern
Art, The Boston Museum, The National Museum of American Art, The Victoria and
Albert Museum in London and The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland.

Mot

Mot began
painting at the age of five and by seven was enrolled in painting instruction
at the L.A. County Museum of Art. He
continued his studies favoring the work of Renaissance masters. His work began
selling in 1990 and since that time he has exhibited widely.
Mot has painted
numerous murals and frescos around Los Angeles and the Bay Area (many of his
mural works can be seen in Marin County).
He’s also created posters for the 40th Anniversary of Summer of Love in
Golden Gate Park, Fairfax Festival, Music on the Bay, Landsdale Station, Wavy
Gravy Summer of Love Revival and Animal Liberation Orchestra.
