Back in the olden days of the Underground, Justin Green was on my short list for 'most under acknowledged underground cartoonist'. I think over the years that changed quite a bit.
But it needs to continue to be said that he was essentially the father of both the autobiographical comic book ...
and the Mini-Comic...
And of course he was a masterful sign painter...
I’ve always admired his stuff a lot.
Much of the content of underground comix scene has not aged well but Justin Green's work still seems alive to me.

A small wash drawing given to me by Justin. He claimed it was an “unintended portrait” me.
(This was many decades ago before my beard turned gray).
