HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY! Molly's Turn (its been a long time)

It's been a while since I've posted my students work and I thought today would be a perfect day to do it!  I have wonderful students, we have such a nice time, I'd like to showcase some of their recent paintings!

Hello

Cristin starting a new painting.

This is a painting I just completed of my cousin Patti Hagopian
I used this image as a jumping off point to help my students get the confidence to start from a drawing and just add paint. Painting for the class forces me to paint small, I'm starting to get an appreciation for this.

If you are in San Rafael on Monday mornings please stop by Riley Street Art Supplies and visit our class, we will be there from 10:30 to 12:30. It's a great environment to work in and we have such a nice time.

Coming Soon: Molly’s Beginning Acrylic Painting Class at Riley Street Art Supply

I will be teaching Beginning Acrylic Painting: Portraits & Animals at Riley Street Art Supply in San Rafael on Thursdays from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, starting on February 27th.

This class incorporates traditional workshop approaches of the past for today's beginning artist. I will begin each class with a brief demonstration on blending, color, and the many ways to manipulate acrylic paint in portraiture.

My goal is to provide students with the knowledge of the materials and techniques to feel confident in exercising their vision on canvas. I will discuss what is essential in the creating of a pleasing painting, i.e. composition, light/value, color and more. I’ll have on hand several examples of my finished work.

Also on Saturday, February 22, I will be conducting a free art demonstration at Riley Street Art Supply. I’ll have some materials available for students to experiment with.

If you have a specific subject or aspect of painting you would like to explore please bring your picture and be prepared. The demonstration will run from 11 am to 1pm.

Seating is limited so please call (415) 457 2787 to reserve.
